Designed by Islay was born out of a love of an eclectic selection of passions; type design, colour and the Scottish language. Inspired by sayings my mother and grandmother used to say, I started creating colourful greeting cards and art prints of inspirational Scottish quotes beautifully set in contemporary type focusing on the positive. 

The collection continues to grow and includes original sayings and a unique range of illustrated Wild Swimming and Stand Up Paddle boarding greeting cards, prints and mugs created to celebrate activities that have brought me lots of joy! The illustrations are digitally created using layers of paper textures.

I have a great focus on sustainability and all the products are printed in the UK and on FSC accredited recycled paper stock (cards have the logo printed on them) and come with 100% recycled Kraft envelopes or are backed with 100% recycled grey card. All printed products are packaged in bio-degradable and compostable cello wrappers.
